Dr. S Guru Balaji

Dr. Guru Balaji, our newly appointed consultant urologist at The Capstone Clinic, brings 21 years of specialized experience in open, endourological, and laparoscopic procedures. His expertise enhances our ability to address various urological issues, from serious conditions like prostate cancer to pelvic medical concerns treated collaboratively with our oncologists and gynaecologists. Dr. Guru aids in the diagnosis of cysts, tumours, kidney problems, and urinary tract issues.

Dr. Guru has contributed to several publications, including ‘A Case of Mandibular Cyst’ and ‘Insulinoma’ in 2001, and ‘Evaluation of Bone Mineral Densitometry in Patients with Thyrotoxicosis’ in 2000. His international papers on day-case laparoscopic adrenalectomy, audit of laparoscopic nephrectomies, and others span across the US, UK, Netherlands, Singapore, and Australia. Nationally, his work covers varicocelectomy, iatrogenic urological injuries, renal tumour and transplantation, tuberous sclerosis, and more. Dr. Guru Balaji, a member of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, the National Academy of Medical Sciences in India (MNAMS), The Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry Society of Urology, and the South Zone Urological Society of India, has also served as Deputy Head for clinical governance for Urology at East Sussex. He has shared his insights at Madras Medical Association and BITS Pilani.
