Dr. S. Gouthaman

With 14 years of expertise in oncology, Dr. Gouthaman has become a valuable addition to The Capstone Clinic. His proficiency extends to various oncological procedures, including breast and gynecologic oncology (open and laparoscopic), gastrointestinal oncology, head and neck oncology, thoracic oncology, urological oncology, and musculoskeletal oncology. Dr. Gouthaman’s experience allows the clinic to conduct comprehensive pretreatment evaluations, address complex medical issues, and plan post-treatment procedures, including supportive care. Collaborating with experts in radiology, psychiatry, obstetrics, and gynaecology, he aims to provide the highest quality of care.

Since 2013, Dr. Gouthaman has served as an Associate Professor of Surgical Oncology and Consultant Surgical Oncologist at Sri Ramachandra Medical University in Porur. He also acts as a visiting consultant and surgical oncologist at Apollo Speciality Cancer Hospitals in Teynampet since 2016 and Cloudnine Hospitals since 2017. Dr. Gouthaman has shared his insights on breast cancer at various Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs, including those organized by several cancer institutes. Additionally, he has performed emergency surgeries for various conditions, including intestinal obstruction, hollow viscus perforation, appendicectomy, cystostomy, abdominal trauma, tracheostomy, intercostal chest tube drainage, and exploratory laparotomy.

Dr. Gouthaman has contributed to several publications covering topics such as diagnostic dilemmas in co-infection, duodeno-colo-cutaneous fistula secondary to tuberculosis, compartment syndrome, pediatric chondrosarcoma of the sinonasal region, deep soft tissue leiomyoma of the forearm mimicking a primary bone tumor of the ulna, double pathology, retroperitoneal endometriotic cyst, surgical management of follicular carcinoma of thyroid with spinal metastasis, a rare case of endometrial adenocarcinoma with renal cell carcinoma, primary carcinoma of cervix and endometrium, primary carcinoma breast, and primary malignant mixed Mullerian tumour of the uterus. His active participation in cancer research conferences and paper presentations across Chennai further highlights his commitment to advancing oncological knowledge.
